La-La Land Crafts Thank You

 Hello! It's already Friday again! The week just flew by. 

This week our theme at La-La Land Crafts is Thank You. There are so many directions you could go with this. I chose to make a thank you card for a doctor. We all know they have been working themselves to the bone during this pandemic. 

We cannot ignore the fact that Luka makes THE CUTEST doctor either. I love any and all things Luka, so I am a little biased. 

I have been looking at Luka's shoes and his slacks. His shoes are colored with C's and his slacks are colored with W's. The C's have what looks like a blue tone to me. I am really not liking that on his shoes. Hahaha! I should have stuck with the W's. They are my favorite.

I just love these hampsters! I'm not a fan of sushi, however. I cannot stand the stuff! I know, I know...I am strange. 

It took me a while to figure out how I wanted the layout on this card. I like how it turned out though. Pretty simple.

La-La Land Crafts NEW RELEASE Winter Wishes Marci Card

 Hi there! You may have seen that La-La Land Crafts is having a New Release. We finally get to see what's in the Winter Box! Well, you get to see it in the shop. Unfortunately, my DT package has been lost in the mail. So my projects only showcase the new stamps. 

It's ok though! The new stamps go well with old dies too! 

The first card that I made showcases Winter Wishes Marci. She is gorgeous! As are all of the new rubber stamps that were released. 

I got a tiny bit carried away filling my shaker with microbeads. To read the sentiment you have to swirl the beads around. 

The sentiment reads "sending warm hugs and lots of love." 

The background paper is from the New Home for Christmas Paper Pack. I love the colors in this paper pack! It's full of nontraditional Christmas colors. 

Fireplace Die is what I used for the bricks. I cut the fireplace apart and glued each brick to the background paper.

EEEKKKK!!! I have been waiting for so long to share this card with you. This is my all-time favorite set of La-La Land Crafts Critters. 

I haven't always been in love with Chihuahuas, but they have grown on me. Really it's just been the last few months that they've caught my eye.

La-La Land Crafts Gold Tulip Card

Good morning friends! Happy Friday. It's a gorgeous sunny morning here in Palmer Alaska. Fall is just around the corner. As much as I love the leaves changing colors and all things Pumpkin Spice, I am not ready for this season to come. It's a short one here. Then the snow starts falling and we have super cold weather for 6+ months. 

My card today is bright and cheery. The theme this week for La-La Land Crafts team Friday is Patterned Papers. I had no idea what I was going to do when I sat down at 7:00 the night my assignment is due. I flipped through my clear stamps and this little gnome from Best Gnomies Clear Stamp Set popped out at me. 

Once I had my image chosen, I knew right away what colors I wanted. That led me to my favorite La-La Land Crafts paper pack...Spring has Sprung Paper Pack. I love the colors and patterns in this set! 

The only problem now was to decide which dies to use. La-La Land Crafts has SOOOOO many awesome dies. It's not always easy deciding.

La-La Land Crafts COFFEE Card

Good morning friends! TGIF! Am I right? It's been a busy week here in the Goodwin household. School started this week. Instead of sending them to public school this year, we have decided to homeschool. We wanted to make sure that the girls are getting a consistent education and not being interrupted by Carona. Which I feel would happen with attending public school. 

So far, things are going great and we are all loving it. My 8th grader does a lot of it on her own, but my 4th grader is very much hands-on. We are usually done for the day at 1:00 P.M. The girls love that! 

In Social Studies and Science, I am learning right along with her which I love. 

Ok, enough about that and on to the real reason you popped in! You saw the word Coffee. Am I right? 

For my La-La Land Crafts DT assignment this week, I went with a coffee themed card. I am not a coffee drinker, but I do love these little hamsters in the Coffee is Life Clear Stamp Set! 

The theme we were given was stencils. Such an easy theme with the number of stencils that La-La Land Crafts has! I used two stencils to create patterned paper for my card. The polka dots from the So Many Dots Layering Stencils and the other one is from the Daisies on my Mind Layering Stencil.

La-La Land Crafts August 2020 Club Kit Reveal

 Hi everyone! It's La-La Land Crafts Club Kit reveal day! Are you excited?! 

Once again, I am in love with this kit! Take a look at the first project I made. 

These dies!!! Freaking love them! I have been telling my kids stories of when I was a kid. We had an antenna outside. If the T.V. wasn't coming in clear we had to go out and turn it. My mom would be yelling from the inside...Stop! No go back! They thought that was the funniest thing. 

I think we were probably the last ones on the planet to get a VCR. Once we did, we would rent movies every Friday. Along with a few Nintendo games.

La-La Land Crafts You Are One Smart Cookie

Hello! Happy Friday. I am hopping right back into crafting. It's been a busy week getting all these projects. I am enjoying the time in my craft room. 

Today I am sharing a card for La-La Land Crafts Team Friday. Our theme this week is Critter Fun. La-La Land Crafts has LOTS of critters. The newest of which is a monkey! If you missed the monkey's debut, you can see him in my last blog post HERE.

I decided to pair Baker Luka with the adorable hamsters from the Eat More Cake Clear Stamp Set.

I have had Baker Luka colored and sitting on my craft table since he was released a few months ago. I knew exactly what I was going to do with him. I just needed the time and energy to make the card. 

I used the Everything is Rosy Layering Stencil to create the patterned paper. Then I cut the center out with the Double Stitched Squares Die to create a frame. 

I cut the Electric Mixer out using the Spring Has Sprung Paper Pack. The colors were not the right ones for this card so I colored over the patterned paper with Copic Markers. You can still see the pattern, which I love.

La-La Land Crafts Take Care of Yourself

Hello crafty friends! I cannot believe it's already Friday again. We have been busy remodeling a bathroom for my Great Aunt. She wanted a walk-in shower installed. Andrew did all the hard work. I got to do the fun stuff like painting. 

This week at La-La Land Crafts, we are working with the May Release again. For some reason, I was thinking that Nurse Marcy was part of the release, but I was wrong. It's ok though. She works perfectly with the new dies that were released. 

I wanted to put more depth into my images. So, I've been doing some reading on coloring with Copics. To achieve depth you use shadows. When I say shadows, I don't mean adding a darker shade of the color you are using. I'm talking about adding in cast shadows.

Definition of cast shadow: a shadow cast by an object or figure in a painting or other picture.

If you look closely at Nurse Marcy's hair, you can see a bluish, grey color. By adding in BV29, BV25, BV23 I was able to create shadows where the hair lays on top of other hair. Doing this makes Marcy's hair look fuller. 

Have you seen the new papers?! I am so in love with them! So many beautiful floral patterns! I almost don't want to use them. Hahaha Are you like that? Do you have papers that you don't want to use? I'm going to have to buy another pack just to keep!

Safe at Home with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning once again friends! Popping in to share more of the La-La Land Crafts New Release. 

I had a lot of fun making this card. I used the NEW MASKING VINYL that coordinates with the NEW WINDOWS AND THINGS STAMP SET. I have not done a lot of masking so this was a learning experience for me. Turns out I LOVE masking!

Right now I am in love with pallet walls. Why am I telling you that? I tried to make it look like the inside of the house had a pallet wall. It turned out looking like the window was boarded up behind the curtains. I added some depth by adding BV29, BV27, BV25, and BV23 along the curtains and above the window sill. 

I still wasn't happy. The window still looked boarded up. That led to hanging a picture on the wall. I think it made it look a little better. Still not 100% happy with it.

La-La Land Crafts Tropical Paradise

Happy Friday friends! This week we are creating Tropical Paradise projects for La-La Land Crafts. Doesn't that sound wonderful. I don't know about you, but I sure could use a Tropical Paradise vaca. 

I used the new You Inspire Me Boackground Stamp Set to create the blue background. This stamp makes me think of water. 

I used Copic markers to color the image and the die cuts. I know I have said this before, but I love, love, love how the die cuts look when they are colored verses cut out of colored paper. However, it does take more time to color them.

Let's Be Mermaids with La-La Land Crafts

Hi everyone! The Friday Team is up on the La-La Land Crafts Blog today. The theme is Let's Be Mermaids. How fun is that?! Great theme for summer time. 

La-La Land Crafts has some SUPER CUTE mermaids! I used Sassy Mermaid Molli. She is my favorite mermaid out of the bunch. 

I colored Sassy Mermaid Molli with Copic markers. I wanted to do something different in the way of hair color. I played around with a few colors and came up with RV69, V09, RV19, V04. I love how it turned out! 

La-La Land Crafts also has the perfect dies for creating an under the sea scene. I used the Stitched Nested Circles Die set to create rocks.

Red, White and Blue with La-La Land Crafts

Happy Friday crafting friends! I hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July. We went to the parade and to the Mayor's Picnic (free hot dogs, soda, fruit, live music and more) It's always a good time. The day was so beautiful! Stupid me, didn't put any sunscreen on and was thoroughly enjoying the sun. Once we got home and I looked in the mirror, I was sorry I didn't think I was going to get burned. I now look like a red lobster raccoon!  

This week the theme for our La-La Land Crafts inspiration is red, white and blue! Perfect since the 4th was Wednesday.

Nothing says red, white and blue like the American flag! Thinking of You Marci looks adorable up against the flag. She has such a sweet face.

Moving Parts with La-La Land Crafts

Hi all! Happy Friday! It's time for some La-La Land Crafts inspiration! Today the theme is moving parts. I had never made a card with moving parts before. Well, except for a shaker card. So this was a great theme for me. 

The gorgeous dolphins are from the newly released Jaws Because Clear Stamp Set.

Doesn't look like anything moves from the angle of the first picture, but the center dolphin is on a little spring. 

Here's a shot where you can see the spring. It's kinda fun playing with it and watching the dolphin bounce around. 

I colored the dolphins with Copic markers.

Did you know that there is really such a thing as pink dolphins? There is a ton of pictures online of them if you Google them. 

If you wanted to do grey dolphins, my favorite Copic combo is C6, C4, C3, C1, and C00.
