I wanted to try making a waterfall card for my tutorial this month. Yeah...that was a total fail! So, I just improvised and made a slimline card. 

It turned out pretty cute if you ask me. I haven't seen a slimline card that didn't turn out cute, to be honest. 

This card is full of layers! You know I love layers! 

When I picture a farm truck, I see a rusty old truck. I was able to create a rusty look with Copic markers. The trick is to use the colorless blender. If you'd like to see how I did it you can watch my reveal video HERE.

To make the barn look a little more realistic, I created boards. I did that one both barns. I love the way they look.

La-La Land Crafts Take Care of Yourself

Hello crafty friends! I cannot believe it's already Friday again. We have been busy remodeling a bathroom for my Great Aunt. She wanted a walk-in shower installed. Andrew did all the hard work. I got to do the fun stuff like painting. 

This week at La-La Land Crafts, we are working with the May Release again. For some reason, I was thinking that Nurse Marcy was part of the release, but I was wrong. It's ok though. She works perfectly with the new dies that were released. 

I wanted to put more depth into my images. So, I've been doing some reading on coloring with Copics. To achieve depth you use shadows. When I say shadows, I don't mean adding a darker shade of the color you are using. I'm talking about adding in cast shadows.

Definition of cast shadow: a shadow cast by an object or figure in a painting or other picture.

If you look closely at Nurse Marcy's hair, you can see a bluish, grey color. By adding in BV29, BV25, BV23 I was able to create shadows where the hair lays on top of other hair. Doing this makes Marcy's hair look fuller. 

Have you seen the new papers?! I am so in love with them! So many beautiful floral patterns! I almost don't want to use them. Hahaha Are you like that? Do you have papers that you don't want to use? I'm going to have to buy another pack just to keep!

Safe at Home with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning once again friends! Popping in to share more of the La-La Land Crafts New Release. 

I had a lot of fun making this card. I used the NEW MASKING VINYL that coordinates with the NEW WINDOWS AND THINGS STAMP SET. I have not done a lot of masking so this was a learning experience for me. Turns out I LOVE masking!

Right now I am in love with pallet walls. Why am I telling you that? I tried to make it look like the inside of the house had a pallet wall. It turned out looking like the window was boarded up behind the curtains. I added some depth by adding BV29, BV27, BV25, and BV23 along the curtains and above the window sill. 

I still wasn't happy. The window still looked boarded up. That led to hanging a picture on the wall. I think it made it look a little better. Still not 100% happy with it.

La-La Land Crafts Get Well Soon Card

Good morning! Friday is here once again and we are celebrating ANOTHER mini release over at La-La Land Crafts. So many new things! 

For today's project, I was assigned Marci in Scrubs. I scrolled through Pinterest for a while trying to decide on what pattern I wanted to put on Marci's scrubs. A lot of them had pretty flowers, but I wanted something different. Enter paw prints! 

With the paw prints, you could even use Marci in Scrubs as a Vet Tech. 

I really like the dies in this release! Perfect for all the medical-themed stamps that were released. I think my favorite ones are Nurse and Dr. Luka. I'm always happy to see new Luka stamps.

La-La Land Crafts Congratulations on Your New Arrival Card

Good morning crafty friends! May is here. We are having sunny weather and the leaves will soon be popping out everywhere. This makes my heart happy! 

The La-La Land Crafts design team is showcasing the April New Release again. I am having so much fun with this release! I used the Bundle of Joy Clear Stamp Set for my card. 

I made a change to the baby stamp with creative color placement. I changed the hat into hair! Doesn't she look adorable!?! It's fun to be able to make a stamp look completely different with creative color placement. 

This onesie with a tutu is just way too cute! I love little girls because of the adorable clothes we can dress them up in.

La-La Land Crafts April 2020 Club Kit Inspiration

Good morning! I spent a lot of my day yesterday in the craft room. It was nice to be able get my craft on. Seems like every time I go in there one of the girls or my husband need something. I didn't even have to cook dinner. My oldest daughter, Linaya, cooked Sesame Chicken and fried rice. She is a really good cook. 

Anyway, I was playing with the La-La Land Crafts April Club Kit. The little mice were the perfect critter choice for this kit. 

I had to do another slimline card. You may be seeing a lot of them from me. I love them! 

I used the Cheese Die that comes with the April Club Kit as my background paper. I cut the cheese out of yellow cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers.

And of course, I had to finish the card off with the "you're so cheesy" sentiment.

The second card I made showcases Marci. I wasn't sure how I wanted to color Marci's dress so I headed to Pinterest and looked up summer dresses. So many cute ideas! I ended up choosing one and did my best to recreate it. 

I really like the hairstyle that Marcy is sporting in this stamp. Her ponytail is actually being held by a scrunchie but can be colored as if she wrapped hair around it.

La-La Land Crafts Duck Card

Good morning crafty friends! Do you know what tomorrow is? Tomorrow is National Scrapbook Day! That means there will be all sorts of sales going on! Who's going to be shopping with me?!?

I know La-La Land Crafts is going to be having a sale. We also have some other super fun things planned. I will tell you more about that in a bit.
