La-La Land Crafts Gift Bag

Good morning everyone! It's a chilly fall morning here in Palmer, AK. There's snow on the mountain tops which means we should have it here in about 3-4 weeks.

Anywho, today I have a La-La Land Crafts gift bag to share with you. I started out by stamping the chameleon on paper from the Endless Summer Paper Pack that was just released. It was very easy to blend the colors on this paper. I'm thinking some of these papers would be perfect for clothing. Just stamp, color and fussy cut.

I found a super simple tutorial on Pinterest for DIY paper gift bags.  Take a look at the tutorial HERE.

Before I started folding the paper, I used the leaf stamps in the Birds of a Feather Clear Stamp Set to put a design on it. Oxide inks worked great for this. They leave a nice crisp stamp.

Once my paper was designed the way I wanted, I folded it into a bag as the instructions show in the tutorial. Then I added the die cuts and the chameleon.

The bag even folds flat!

If you missed the September 2019 New Release, you can find that HERE. If you are heading out on any warm cruises/vacas...I promise you you will need to get some of these dies!

Papernest Doll's Sewing Avery

Good morning friends! I am happy to say that I have found my mojo! It was on hiatus for quite some time. I had begun to wonder if it would ever come back. Thankfully it has!

Today's card features Sewing Avery. If you search for Sewing Avery in the shop, two images pop up. It was interesting to see how much the Papernest Doll images have grown over the years. What I love most is that they are the same in adorableness, simplicity, and style, but you can see Christine's growth as an artist.

I fell in love with Papernest Dolls when I first discovered them about 4 years ago. My love for them grows as Christine pumps out new images every month. She has amazing ideas and some super fun stamps coming out here in the next few months...shhhh don't tell her I told you that!

If you notice, this card has a very similar color scheme to the last PND card that I made. When I am making multiple cards at once, I tend to do that. It's like there are no other colors in the world at the time.

Once again, I use Copic markers and La-La Land Craft Dies on my card. You will find the color combinations and the die links listed below.

La-La Land Crafts New Release Vacation Mona

Welcome back for day three of the La-La Land Crafts release. Are you having as much fun as I am?!

Today's card is showcasing Vacation Mona. Who's Mona, you may ask...she is a new character to La-La Land Crafts! I am looking forward to seeing more of her in future releases.

I colored Mona with Copic markers. Since she is on vaca, I wanted to go with a bright sunny yellow for her outfit. What looks good with yellow...back! You will find the colors that I used posted below.

I had a little fun and created ice cubes in Mona's drink. I had never attempted this and had no idea if it would turn out. Thankfully it did. If it hadn't, I would have just covered the drink up.

This is the last new release project from me this week. Don't be sad though! You will continue to be inspired by other members from the DT. They will have new projects for you to oooohhhh and awwwweee over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!

See you again soon!

Hugs,

La-La Land Crafts New Release - Just Chill

Good morning! Here we are for day two of the La-La Land Crafts new release. Today I got to play with the Just Chill Clear Stamp Set

I am in love with these little penguins! They are adorable! And check out the camera die!! How cute is that?!? I think this will probably be one of those dies that I use often.

I used paper from the Get Inky Paper Pack for the background paper. I LOVE the quality of this paper! It's thick and so smooth. I was even able to use Copic markers to color on it...which is something you will see on a future project.

La-La Land Crafts New Release - Birds of a Feather

Hi friends!! La-La Land Crafts has a fun new release! There is going to be 6 full days of blog posts showcasing all the new stamps, stencils, dies, background stamps AND papers. Yep...you saw that right. La-La Land Crafts now has their own papers.

The first stamp set that I worked with for the release is Birds of a Feather Clear Stamp Set. I have never colored birds before so I went to Pinterest for inspiration. I found a bright-colored bird and tried to emulate it.

Here's a picture of everything in the release! To see more projects from the DT, check out the La-La Land Crafts Blog or the La-La Land Crafts Facebook Group.

Papernest Doll's Baker Ellie

Hello PND fans! I'm back with a card for you!

The card I am sharing with you today is made with Baker Ellie

I really had a lot of fun coloring this image. I used Copic markers like usual, but I was a little creative with the shading. Notice how the shading in her hat is grey and pink? I first used the W6, W3, W1 Copic combination and then went over that with R32. I love the way it turned out!

The dies I used are from La-La Land Crafts. The links are below...

Monochromatic With La-La Land Crafts

Hello! Happy Friday! I'm not sure about you, but once the kids go back to school, after summer vacation, the weeks seem to go by super fast. Maybe it's the change of the seasons. Here in Alaska, Fall comes shortly after they return to school and winter is only 6-8 weeks after that.

Anywho, let's get on with today's crafting post! This week our theme was monochromatic. I had never colored an image like this before. The first thing I did was go to the dictionary and look monochromatic up...

1) having one color.
2) having tones of one color in addition to the ground hue
Then I headed to Pinterest. This is where I discovered that you could choose any color you wanted for monochrome. I had only seen it done with brown tones before. As excited as I was to see that, I decided to go with brown tones because that is what I like best.

I used Copic marker combination E49, E29, E25, E31, E21, E00 to color Autumn Marci. I love how you can make different colors using just a few markers. I think I will try this technique again using different combinations. For now, if you would like to see the same technique done in different colors, head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog. The DT did an awesome job of using different colors. You'd think we talked about it, but we didn't.

Here's a list of the La-La Land Crafts items that I used...

But First Sloffee

Hi everyone! Happy Friday.

This week at La-La Land Crafts the team is doing back to school projects. If you look at my card, that is probably not the first thing that you think of...am I right?

I mean...it's a coffee themed card. When I started thinking about back to school, I was thinking about all the teachers getting up early and needing coffee before they tackled their first day back at work. Therefore, the coffee themed card is a back to school card.

I started out by making my background papers. I used the tiny coffee cup in the Take it Sloth Clear Stamp Set and the So Many Dots Layering Stencil to make the coffee paper. The heart paper was made with the Hearts Forever Background Stamp Set.

I was a complete disaster after I made the heart paper. My red ink pad is super juicy. I had ink all over my hands, which ended up all over my papers and then on my tables and on some of my tools. I'm not sure if any of you are a mess like that after working with distress inks, but I cannot work with them without getting them everywhere.

The image, the coffee cups and the spots are all colored with Copic markers. You will find the color combinations below.
