La-La Land Crafts Zombie Shaker

Hi friends! I am back from Copic Boot Camp. Let me tell you that it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! I learned new techniques, got new crafting goodies, and made lots of new crafty friends.

One of the images we worked on is Barefoot Luka from La-La Land Crafts. As I was coloring Luka's face, one of my markers dripped. I'm sure you know how frustrating that is. I had to figure out a way to fix it. My friend Cristena was sitting next to me...I jokingly said I could make him a pirate. She came back with "or a zombie." Genius!

That's what I did...I made Barefoot Luka into a zombie.

In Boot Camp, Jennifer Dove taught us how to do a few different backgrounds. Backgrounds are challenging for me, but I enjoy pushing myself to new limits.

To make Luka's flannel I colored the shirt red with Copics. Leaving a white area for the tares in it. After the Copic ink dried, I used a white gel pen and a black sharpie to add the lines in the flannel.

Here's a picture of the coloring before I made it into a shaker card.

Coloring this image was so much fun! It didn't turn out how I had orginally planned but, sometimes we have to change plans as we go.

Good morning!! I am coming to you from Copic Boot Camp in Arizona today!! It's day two and we are having a blast! Keep a look out in my Facebook Group for pictures

This week the La-La Lad Crafts team is creating Orange and Black projects. The stamp I used is Baby Pumpkin Luka.

I am totally in love with him! He looks so cute in his little pumpkin costume. My kids wore a costume similar to this when they were babies.

I colored Luka with Copic markers. You will find the color combos and the supplies I used listed below.

La -La Land Crafts Halloween

Good morning! It's Friday...October 11th which means I fly to Arizona in 5 days for COPIC BOOT CAMP!! I could not be more excited! Not only do I get to learn techniques from Jennifer Dove, but I will also have the privilege of meeting a few of my Facebook friends in person.

I will be taking lots of pictures and posting in my Toadally Love To Craft Facebook Group if you'd like to follow along.

This week the La-La Land Crafts Friday Inspiration Team is making Halloween projects. I think that Halloween cards just might be my favorite! And La-La Land Crafts has some really cute Halloween dies. I added several of them to my collection last year.

I chose Witch Marci for my Halloween project. I was torn between green and white skin. After much thought, I decided to go with green skin. I had also thought about putting a black dot on her face to resemble a wart but forgot all about it until now. Next time.

I wanted to color a background for Witch Marci but wasn't sure how I would incorporate dies. Jennifer Dove suggested that I color the background I wanted on a shaped die cut. Genius, right?!?!

I decided to go with the Nested Frames Large Die set for the shape of the background. I cut the largest frame out and then I cut out a circle for the moon using the Stitched Nested Circles. I placed the circle on the frame where I wanted the moon to be and held it in place as I colored around it with BV20.

Once I had extended BV20 out far enough, I removed the circle and continued coloring outward with BV23, BV25 and finally BV29. I added details to the moon with BV000, BV00, and BV20.

Using the colorless blender pen and a white gel pen, I created stars to liven up the dark sky. I love how it turned out!

La -La Land Crafts Plumeria Lei Marci Card

Good morning! I am up bright and early getting a start on the day. I have many things on my to-do list! One of those things is teaching a small group of ladies a Copic coloring class. I always have fun when I get to teach these little classes.

On to today's card! We are working with the La-La Land Crafts September Release again this week. I love that we have multiple weeks to work with the new releases. It gives me time to play with all the new goodies.

I chose to use Plumeria Lei Marci for my card today. When I first saw her, I imagined her with black hair and tan skin. I decided to add purple ends to her hair. I always love the look of this when I see it, but am to chicken to do it to my own hair.

I colored Marci with Copic markers. After I was done coloring her, I stopped to clean my glasses. When I put them back on, I noticed a blob on Marci's face. Some of the cleaning solution had dropped on her cheek!!! I think she looks ok though. I was able to take some of the blue tint out by coloring over it.

I used the Sun Stencil from the Summer is Here Layering Stencil Set to create a sunny background for Marci. I LOVE this stencil set! So many gorgeous creations can be made with these stencil sets. I especially appreciate them when I don't have papers that go with what I had in mind.

If you'd like to take a look at the entire September release, you can find that HERE.
