La-La Land Crafts New Release - Deck The Palms

Happy Friday friends! La-La Land Crafts has just released some amazing new stamp sets, stencil set, and dies. I love how often they do new releases! For the next three days, I will come to you with projects made with the newly released products

The first new stamp set that I played with is the Deck the Palms Clear Stamp Set. I love this set because it's different than the typical Christmas stamps that we see. Don't get me wrong, I love the typical Christmas stamps too, but Christmas isn't always cold and snowy. In some places it's warm and sunny.

I folded a piece of cardstock in half making a card base. Then I took the largest tag in the Large Stitched Tags Die set and set it to cut, leaving the crease of the card just inside the die so it was not cut.

I used the Sweater Weather and the It's Snowing Layering Stencil set to create the background.

Take a look at the entire NEW RELEASE! So much awesomeness!

Gingerbread and Candy Canes with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning everyone! Did you survive Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping?!?

Our Thanksgiving was so nice. Lots of good food, fun and laughs. At the end of the day, I was exhausted and feeling very, very thankful for the people that have become like family to us here in Alaska.

This week at La-La Land Crafts,  the design team was given the theme of Gingerbread Men and Candy Canes to work with. Fun, right!?!

I used part of the packaging from some Halloween make-up to use as a shaker cup. I stamped, colored and fussy cut 7 gingerbread men to put inside the cup along with glitter and snowflake sequins.

This is the first time I have used make-up packaging for a shaker. I love how easy the shaker parts move around. Next time, I will make sure to rub the inside of the packaging with a used dryer sheet so that the glitter will not stick to the plastic.

A friend of mine had asked me to make a card with Buffalo Check. I used the Funky Squares Layering Stencil and Oxide Ink to create a look that is similar.

I love how the card turned out!

Reneabouquets Explosion Box Lantern

Good morning friends! We have just a few days until Thanksgiving...are you ready?!? I think for the most part, I am. We always celebrate on the day before Thanksgiving because my husband has to work the swing shift on Thursday.

This year, we will have 20 people at our house for dinner! It will be the first year that our son will not be home. He's 18 now and has a job 😢 I don't know how he grew up so fast. He has promised to come over before dinner to visit with us though. I will take what I can get!

Now on to this fabulous Reneabouquets Explosion Box Lantern. When I first saw these Explosion Boxes in the Reneabouquets shop, I thought they looked like a vintage lantern. So that's the look I went for while I was creating.

What do you think? With the lights it really does look like a lantern, huh?

I think this will make a sweet addition to our Christmas decor.

I was able to achieve the textured rusty look by using Ranger Tim Holtz Opaque Crackle Texture Paste and Finnabair Prima pastes.

The snow is a mixture of glitter and salt. I was able to add it to the lantern by laying down a thin layer of Gesso and then sprinkling the salt/glitter mixture over it.

Look at how gorgeous this butterfly is!! The colors fit perfectly with the lantern.

I inked the edges of the flowers, snowflakes and the leaves with distress inks.

I colored the Christmas tree with distress markers.

I am in the process of editing a process video. Once I have that all done, I will share it on my youtube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Below you will find a list of all the Reneabouquets items that I have used on my project. I hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Self Closing Bag Tutorial

Hello friends! Today is Thursday, which means it's time for a tutorial! I am going to show you how to make a Self Closing Bag.

First you will need to gather the following supplies...

Score Board
Paper Cutter
Scissors
Wet Adhesive
Tape Adhesive
Hot Glue
Hot Glue Gun
Cheese Cloth
White Cardstock
Designer Cardstock
Solid Cardstock
Coloring medium
Candy
Paint Brush

Ok, lets get started! Cut a piece of solid cardstock down to 8 1/2 x 6 inches.

Score at 4 inches and 8 inches. Rotate cardstock, score at 1 inch and 5 inches, rotate cardstock again (putting the thinnest score line on the left) score at 2 inches and 6 inches from the top of the cardstock to the 1 inch score line, as shown below.

Next, you will score from the bottom score line to the short 2 inch score line as shown below. Repeat the same steps for the other side as indicated in the picture below.

Cut all the short score lines as shown below.

Your cardstock will now look like this...

Snip the corners off of the tab to look like the picture below.

You will need two pieces of designer cardstock cut at 3 & 3/4 inches x 3 & 3/4 inches. Cut the cardstock to match the score lines on the solid cardstock.

Adhere the pieces to the solid colored cardstock as shown below.

Fold the cardstock along the score lines. Place tape adhesive along the tab as shown below.

The bottom of the bag has four tabs.

Fold them like you would a cardboard box.

Hot glue the bottom closed.

Stamp 2 elves from the Jolly Elves Clear Stamp SetOne on white cardstock and one on designer cardstock. Color the elf on the white cardstock with your choice of  coloring medium. (you can skip coloring the main part of the hat and the shirt.

Fussy cut the colored elf and the main part of the hat and the shirt out of the designer cardstock. Adhere the pieces of the designer cardstock to the colored elf.

Cut one strand of Christmas Lights , one Filigree Christmas Tree and one Pretty Poinsettia set out of white cardstock. Cut an extra large Poinsettia leaf out white cardstock and one out of tan cardstock.

Using the end of the paint brush and a craft pad, work the paper to make the flower petals curl up just a bit. Hot glue all the pieces together. Use hot glue to create texture in the center of the flower.

Color the light bulbs on the strand of lights.

Cut a small piece of cheese cloth and adhere (with hot glue) to the bottom of the bag to resemble snow.

Then add your die cuts and colored elf as shown.

Fill your bag full of yummy treats for a friend.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have been inspired to create!
Hugs,
         Tina

La-La Land Crafts November 2018 Club Kit Release

Good morning everyone! It's the 15th of the month, which means it's release day for the new La-La Land Crafts Monthly Club Kit. We have a "Rockin" theme this month! That's right...Rock 'N Roll!

The first project I made with the November Club Kit is a tag. I don’t usually make tags, but I am in a swap and my partner wanted a tag. So I Obliged.

When I saw Marci, she screamed late 80’s early 90’s. So I colored her in flourescent colors. That was stepping out of my comfort zone with the Copics. I had never tried flourescent colors and wasn’t sure how it would turn out. I have to say, I am pretty happy with the outcome. Maybe next time I will go for some hot pink hair 😂

The patterned paper that I used on my projects is a digital paper that I found on Etsy. I love being able to look for what I need and print it out. Cuz we all know that the two shelves that I have of designer card stock just isn’t enough!

I used the So Many Dots Layering Stencil to create a background that looks like lights being shined on a stage. In my head, more of the yellow spots were showing on the card. Oh well...still looks cool.
Copic markers used...

Thank You Cards with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning! I always love when I get to post La-La Land Crafts. Why? Because that means it's FRIDAY!! Our weeks seem to be so busy. I cherish the weekends where I have a chance to slow down a bit and breathe.

I love Cowbow Boots Marci! I have colored her before. This time, as I sat staring at her, I thought her dress would look adorable if it were like a red bandana. Very countryish, right?!? I colored the dress and then added the design with a black sharpie and a white gel pen. I love how it turned out!

I used three of the La-La Land Crafts background stamps to create the background papers.

Stamps:

Reneabouquets Mixed Media Mini Canvas

Hello! Hello!

I am super excited about today's project. It's a mini mixed media canvas. It's what I made to replace the Pegacorn mini canvas that I made last month. The one that Echo just had to have =).

This is my favorite piece of mixed media that I have ever created.

I used lots of products from Reneabouquets. I have left a list of each product and the link to it below.

I even did a full video! I am still working on perfecting videos. The more I do, the more comfortable I feel.

I had fun creating the different textures. Doing mixed media is a little like playing in the mud. A huge mess, but oh so much fun!

I hope you have enjoyed my project!

Thank you for stopping by. If you have time, pop on over to my youtube channel and watch the video!
