New Color It Create It Show It Off Challenge For May

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It's been awhile.
I've been preparing my veggie garden for planting. Sounds impressive, right? Not so much.
I have no idea what I'm doing! I seem to kill every plant I touch.
I am learning to garden through trial and error. Some things I have learned over the last 2 years...
1) Don't over water your plants, you'll kill them.
2) Water your plants or they shrivel up and die
3) Weed your garden (even if the weeds are edible) or the weeds will take over and nothing else grows.
4) Keep trying until I get it right?

Anywho, I took a break from gardening to get some craft therapy in.
This beauty is for the new Color It Create It Show It Off Challange sponsored by Sherri Ann Baldy and her My Besties.

I've used IMG005 from the My Bestie Shop for my card.
She is colored with Copic markers.

The awesome card is a file from The Cutting Cafe
It come in the Assorted Card Folds Set 2 along with several other cards.
Embellishments are from Lavish Laces. I love her shop! Such beautiful flowers and laces!

I hope you will stop by and check out the new Color It Create It Show It Off Challange

Altered 45

Hello! Welcome back to Toadally Love To Craft!
I have something a little different to share with you today.

I told my Mom that I was going to alter a small record.
She replied with "a 45?" Ummm....what the heck is a 45?!?

Turns out, a 45 is a small record with a big hole in the center.
It's bigger than a CD, but smaller than a vinyl record.

Anyways, I slapped some Sugar Shoppe cardstock on both sides of this baby, added some flat back pearls, seam binding, lace, a few sweet treats and one TOADALLY adorable My Bestie....
AND VOILA! I now have a My Bestie wall hanging.

The lace was originally white. I "died" it by spraying it with bubblegum pink dylusions ink spray.
I often dye laces and seam binding this way.

The sweet treats were cut out using my Cricut Explore and misc Cricut image sets.

Here's the link to this adorable My Bestie IMG120. I colored her with Copic markers and added a few highlights with a white gel pen.

This was my first attempt at coloring hair like this. It turned out pretty darn good, thanks to the online coloring classes I have taken at Kit and Clowder.

Playing with Clear CardStock from The Cutting Cafe Shop

WARNING...long post with lots of pictures!

It's inspiration time again from The Cutting Cafe!
This week we are playing with clear cardstock from The Cutting Cafe Shop
What's clear cardstock, you might ask, it's acetate or thin clear plastic that you commonly see used on shaker cards. I'm here to tell you that the fun with clear cardstock doesn't have to stop at shakers.
The Cutting Cafe has tons of files that you can use with it, including boxes, bags, tags, and cards.
Here's a few projects I made using clear cardstock.

The awesome Cheveron Background I used, is a file you can find at The Cutting Cafe
It works great with the clear cardstock

One of my favorite Cutting Cafe files is the Paper Flower. It makes the prettiest roses. I love that you can make them different sizes AND you can make them to match anything you are working on! I used pink cardstock this time for my Paper Flower. Once I had it all put together, I sprayed a little Prima Frost Spray Mist (purchased from Renea's Bouquets) on it for a little added texture.

The sentiment is stamped on clear cardstock and then embossed. Be careful not to go overboard with your heat tool so you don't melt the clear cardstock.

Embellishments from Gone ArstyLavish Laces, amd The My Bestie Shop were also used on the chevron card.

Here's a card that I made with the Assorted Card Folds  file. This one I made completely clear and then made another card to slip inside to write on. I left the colored cardstock unattached so it could be pulled out. I love the way that the clear card looks with this image from theeastwind
The image name is Aurora Prayer

Ok, we've all seen the famous pocket letters that are the rave right now, but have you seen mini pocket letters?! NO? Here's a great tutorial...Mini Pocket Letter. Fun, right?! What about being able to make a pocket letter ANY size you want?

That's what I did, with the clear cardstock from The Cutting Cafe Shop
This was super easy to do with my fuse.
If you don't have a fuse, you could use a sewing machine to make the pockets.

The adorable bathing suit and flip flops are also files from The Cutting Cafe. The bathing suit is from the Summer Fun Printable Stamp Set and the flip flops from the By The Sea Basic Shapes set. I filled the other pockets with stickers and things from misc Cricut image sets.

The adorable image is img081 from The My Bestie Shop. She is one of my favorite Fluffy My Besties yet!

Whew! You made it to the end!
Thank you for taking the time to visit and read my blog =)

Assorted Cards With The Cutting Cafe

Hello! Hello! Hello!
It's time for inspiration from The Cutting Cafe team.
This week we are using Assorted Card Folds Set 1 and Set 2

I chose to use two of the cards in Assorted Card Folds Set 1.

For the first two cards, I used card 5.
I thought it would be fun to use this card in a couple different ways.

To make the style of the card a little different, I trimmed off the scalloped edge on the first card and used it as a decorative piece on the center.

The washing machine and accessories are a stamp set from Law Fawn
that I purchased from Not 2 Shabby.

This little cutie is a Gorjuss Girl Stamp. I am in love with these stamps!

The third card was made using card style 6 from Assorted Card Folds Set 1

The adorable hedge hog image is from Di's Digital Stamps

Each one of these cards were cut out with my Cricut Explore. No cutting machine? No problem! All of the files from The Cutting Cafe come in several formats, including PDF =)

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the DT's inspirational post at The Cutting Cafe tomorrow. If you leave a comment on that post you will be entered in a chance to win 3 free files of your choice.
