Good morning! It's Friday...October 11th which means I fly to Arizona in 5 days for COPIC BOOT CAMP!! I could not be more excited! Not only do I get to learn techniques from Jennifer Dove, but I will also have the privilege of meeting a few of my Facebook friends in person.
I will be taking lots of pictures and posting in my Toadally Love To Craft Facebook Group if you'd like to follow along.
This week the La-La Land Crafts Friday Inspiration Team is making Halloween projects. I think that Halloween cards just might be my favorite! And La-La Land Crafts has some really cute Halloween dies. I added several of them to my collection last year.
I chose Witch Marci for my Halloween project. I was torn between green and white skin. After much thought, I decided to go with green skin. I had also thought about putting a black dot on her face to resemble a wart but forgot all about it until now. Next time.
I wanted to color a background for Witch Marci but wasn't sure how I would incorporate dies. Jennifer Dove suggested that I color the background I wanted on a shaped die cut. Genius, right?!?!
I decided to go with the Nested Frames Large Die set for the shape of the background. I cut the largest frame out and then I cut out a circle for the moon using the Stitched Nested Circles. I placed the circle on the frame where I wanted the moon to be and held it in place as I colored around it with BV20.
Once I had extended BV20 out far enough, I removed the circle and continued coloring outward with BV23, BV25 and finally BV29. I added details to the moon with BV000, BV00, and BV20.
Using the colorless blender pen and a white gel pen, I created stars to liven up the dark sky. I love how it turned out!
