Reneabouquets ATC

Good morning! How are you this fantastic Monday morning?!? Today is the start of a very busy week for the Goodwin's. Our oldest daughter is graduating from high school Thursday. A YEAR EARLY! I am so very proud of this girl. She is so determined. Her plan is to join the military. As a Mom, that makes me super proud, and if I am being honest, it scares the crap out of me. I am trying to focus on the proud more than the fear. 

Here we go! Today's craft is an ATC. It has been a LONG time since I have made one of these baby's. When an ATC Swap was posted in the Reneabouquets Artist with an Edge Facebook group, I decided I should join. 


I tore a page out of an old book and adhered it to a piece of chip board. Then I used distress inks to color the paper. 


To color and texture the keys and gears, I used Prima's Rust Effect Paste. I used a combination of the Gold, Red and Brown Rust colors. These pastes give such incredible texture! 


Before I colored the background paper, I had picked out this gorgeous butterfly. It fit perfectly with the distress inks and the brownish rust gears. 


I had a lot of fun making this! Steampunk is one of my favorite styles. 

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...in the future...I will be hosting a Steampunk Mood Board Challenge in the Reneabouquets Artist with an Edge Facebook group. 😄

Reneabouquets Pegasus

Good morning! I am excited to share today's project with you! A magical mixed media Pegasus. 


My daughter, Echo, just had to have this Pegasus. So, we bought it. She immediately started working on it. She got as far as coloring eyes on it and part of the tail. Then it sat in my craft room for six months. I finally asked her if I could decorate it for her. She was super excited about that. 

I started by putting a few coats of gesso on it. Echo had colored on the Pegasus with Sharpies. The color just kept soaking through the gesso. I decided that I wasn't going to fight that after about 4 coats of gesso. Thankfully, the dark colors did lighten quite a bit. 


Once the gesso was dry, I went crazy adding flowers. You know I love me some Reneabouquet flowers! 


Next, I added the Beautiful Board Heart Bits, Skeleton Leaf Bits, and the Small Butterfly Flourish. Then it was time to add a little texture to the wings and hooves. I first put down a layer of Mod Podge and then sprinkled it with Teal Glass Microbeads. After the first layer of microbeads was dry, I added another layer. 


More drying time! This is the worst part. I am so impatient! 


Once the Mod Podge and microbeads were set, I gave the entire Pegasus one more coat of gesso. After that was dry, I added the butterflies and the Beautiful Beads Unicorn Candy Iridescent Pearls.

Reneabouquets Baby Girl Card

Hello again! Today I have babies on the brain. I created this Shabby Chic baby girl card with items from Reneabouquets. 


This card would look super cute framed and hanging on the wall of a nursery. 


I used cardstock from the Prima Heaven Sent paper pack. These papers are gorgeous! 


Reneabouquets is really the best place, that I have found to get one of a kind embellishments. She has items that can not be found anywhere else. How you ask. Because she makes the butterflies, dragonflies and all of her beautiful board pieces.

Reneabouquets March 2018 Spring Mood Board Facebook Challenge

Good morning! We are already into March...March means spring right? Nope. Not here in Alaska. It means snow. At least this year it does. We had minimal snow all winter, but in the last couple weeks we have gotten about 2 feet of it. I don't mind though, I love the snow. It is so pretty, bright and sometimes, when the sun hits it just right, it sparkles like glitter. 

I am ready for warm weather and pretty flowers, however. Which is the reason for the theme of the Reneabouquets March Spring Mood Board Challenge. 

For the challenge inspiration, I made a mixed media canvas using aprox. one ton of Reneabouquets items. Seriously though, take a look at the long list at the bottom of this post! 

Here is the Spring Mood Board for the March challenge. 

I was inspired by the flowers and soft colors in the mood board. Which is why I used tons of Reneabouquets Mulberry Paper Flowers.


I have been wanting to do an altered paint brush for the longest time. Not sure why I waited so long to do it, but I sure love how it turned out on this canvas. 


I used many Reneabouquets Beautiful Board pieces, glitter glass, pearls, and butterflies. Every item used from Reneabouquets gives this piece endless charm. 


To make the soft colors, I painted over everything with gesso. I did a couple of layers to achieve the look that I wanted. 


After the gesso had dried I placed the Beautiful Beads Coppered Teal Iridescent Pearls on the canvas. I love these pearls! They are even more gorgeous in person than they are in the picture.


I was able to create lots of yummy textures on my canvas by using stencils, Ranger Tim Holtz Opaque Crackle Texture Paste and sand. I simply mixed sand straight into the Ranger Tim Holtz Opaque Crackle Texture Paste and then used the Ranger Ink Dina Wakley Media Palette Knife Set 
to spread the mixture over the stencil. 

The little dots you see here are made out of hot glue. Genius right?!? Yep, that was my 6 year olds idea. She is an artist herself. I love that she enjoys helping me with my projects.

Reneabouquets Lavender Valentine's Day Card

Good morning friends! What have you been working on? I have have been working with the new romantic Printed Beautiful Board Large Lavender Lilac Heart Frame from Reneabouquets. 


I am in awe over the card I put together with Reneabouquets items. I love the colors. It's one of those cards that just kinda fell together. I love it when that happens. 


The Sweetheart Lavender Glitter Glass Butterflies looks so pretty in the center of the
  Printed Beautiful Board Large Lavender Lilac Heart Frame. 


I used the Beautiful Board Bling Love Locks Keys as an added little touch of romance. I used a little distress ink to age the key and lock. 



I added Lavender Chunky Glitter Glass to the Lilac White Curly Roses Mulberry Flower to give it a little texture and sparkle.


Reneabouquets has the most romantic pieces that are perfect for all projects. I am in love with the high quality of Reneabouquets handmade products.

Reneabouquets Shabby Card Set

Hi there! Popping in to start your day with some sabbalicious cards.  As most of you know, Shabby Chic is one of my favorite styles. It's so delicate and feminine. 

This first card is for all my coffee loving friends. 


I started with a 5x7 inch white card base. I matted Blue Fern Happy Accident Collection Papers and added Trim Promise Ring Embroidered Lace, Beautiful Board Large Brick Elements and a big 'ol coffee cup. 

 The coffee cup was cut with my Cricut Maker. The file from The Cutting Cafe. I LOVE this file and have used it several times.  


I tucked cheese cloth under the coffee cup to look like steam and then added a gorgeous handmade Shabby Pink Roses Glass Wing Butterfly.


I finished the card off with seam binding an little flower from the Mini Dusty Pink Mulberry Paper Roses Leaves Set, a sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamps (Out Of Jail),  and a tiny Beautiful Board Beautiful Bits Shabby Heart. 


For the second card, I used the Blue Fern Happy Accident Collection Papers again. I love these papers! The colors and designs are just beautiful. 


I used distress inks to color the Beautiful Board Medium Everyday Elegance Frame. The distress inks work really good for coloring the beautiful board pieces. 


After coloring the frame, I laid seam binding down on the card and put the Beautiful Board Medium Everyday Elegance Frame on top of it. I added a sentiment and then tied a big beautiful bow with the seam binding and finished the card with a Shabby Pink Roses Glass Wing Butterfly and a Treasures Pink Champagne Dragonfly. 


The sentiment is Luke 1:37 from Rubbernecker Stamps. This is one of my favorite scriptures.

Rubbernecker Stamps Thank You Card

Good morning friends! Today's card is a thank you card, made with the Thank You Stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps.

It seems that sending thank you cards is something of the passed. I however, still enjoy sending and receiving them. I tend to be a little old school about things. Sending a thank you card is a little thing that we can do to make a big difference in someones day.


I've paired this sentiment with embellishments from Reneabouquets. The yellow handmade butterfly and painted beautiful board accents the Blue Fern Happy Accident Paper  perfectly. 


The Blue Fern Happy Accident Paper  is one of my favorite paper packs of all times! I love the colors and the vintage look that the papers have. 

 The yellow lace is lace that I had hiding in my stash. Going through my craft stash can be pretty exciting. You'll never know what you can find! 


This card displays a simple elegance that is sure to put a smile on anyone's face.

Reneabouquets Winter Card

Hello! Popping in to share a winter themed card made with beautiful embellishments from Reneabouquets. 


I have used a few different Beautiful Board pieces to help create this winter scene. The Beautiful Board Small Vintage Snowflakes, the Beautiful Board Medium Victorian Scroll Border ,
the Beautiful Board Large Gothic Gate and the Printed Beautiful Board Large Victorian Winter. 

The super cool thing about the Printed Beautiful Board Large Victorian Winter is that you choose the color of her clothing. Your choices are Winter White, Frosty Blue or Frosty Pink. All beautiful choices! 


I covered each one of the Board Small Vintage Snowflakes with Ranger Clear Emboss It Ink  and sprinkled it with vintage white embossing powder. 


I love the the look of the embossed snowflakes. 


The Beautiful Board Large Gothic Gate was the perfect addition to this scene. It reminds me of an old gate that you would see in front of a castle. 


I used Blue Fern Wanderlust Collection Papers for the blue background. To soften the papers a little, I added a piece of embossed vellum. 

The Reneabouquets Trim Delicate Beauty Guipere Lace was perfectly placed to resemble a bed of snow. 


Of course there is one of Reneabouquets handmade butterflies too =)
