La-La Land Crafts June 2020 Club Kit Inspiration

Hi everyone!! I am here with some La-La Land Crafts Club Kit inspiration! 

It has been FOREVER since I have done any scrapbooking. June's kit has me so inspired! I have a ton of beach photos that need to be scrapbooked. 


Have you ever heard of the Dot Technique for Copic Markers? The name pretty much explains what it is. You make little dots to color. 

To color the sand and sandcastle, I used the Dot Technique. Something you may need to know about this technique is that it takes some time. Sit back, relax, grab your Copics and color while you watch a movie. Or two. 


I raised both of the pictures that I colored and stuck a tag behind them. The tags are a perfect place for journaling or pictures. 


Coloring backgrounds takes a lot of ink and time, but I have so much fun doing it. When I am finished I am always amazed. Amazed that I actually did that.

For my second project, I made a different kind of background to show that these stamps and dies can be used for more than just beach scenes. 

This is actually what I did the tutorial on. From drawing the pool and the fence to coloring the image. It's all in video for the Club Kit Members.

La-La Land Crafts June 2020 Club Kit Reveal

Hi everyone! It's La-La Land Crafts Club Kit Release day!! Once again I am in love with the kit. Do you get tired of hearing that? I don't! If I am paying for a kit, I want to be in love with it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The Club Kit Design Team has truly blown me away with their projects this month. So many beautiful beach scenes. There are even some scenes that aren't on the beach. I think those turned out to be my favorite.  

 Of course, I had to make a Slimeline card. They really have become my favorite style of card. I'm sure that will only last for a while. I tend to go through fads like that.

I wanted Marci's hair to be black, but with the combination, I used it really turned out more of a blue. I left it like that because I really like the way it looks.

La-La Land Crafts June 2020 Release Coffee Card

La- La Land Crafts May Club Kit Reveal

I wanted to try making a waterfall card for my tutorial this month. Yeah...that was a total fail! So, I just improvised and made a slimline card. 


It turned out pretty cute if you ask me. I haven't seen a slimline card that didn't turn out cute, to be honest. 


This card is full of layers! You know I love layers! 

When I picture a farm truck, I see a rusty old truck. I was able to create a rusty look with Copic markers. The trick is to use the colorless blender. If you'd like to see how I did it you can watch my reveal video HERE.


To make the barn look a little more realistic, I created boards. I did that one both barns. I love the way they look.

La-La Land Crafts Take Care of Yourself

Hello crafty friends! I cannot believe it's already Friday again. We have been busy remodeling a bathroom for my Great Aunt. She wanted a walk-in shower installed. Andrew did all the hard work. I got to do the fun stuff like painting. 

This week at La-La Land Crafts, we are working with the May Release again. For some reason, I was thinking that Nurse Marcy was part of the release, but I was wrong. It's ok though. She works perfectly with the new dies that were released. 


I wanted to put more depth into my images. So, I've been doing some reading on coloring with Copics. To achieve depth you use shadows. When I say shadows, I don't mean adding a darker shade of the color you are using. I'm talking about adding in cast shadows.

Definition of cast shadow: a shadow cast by an object or figure in a painting or other picture.

If you look closely at Nurse Marcy's hair, you can see a bluish, grey color. By adding in BV29, BV25, BV23 I was able to create shadows where the hair lays on top of other hair. Doing this makes Marcy's hair look fuller. 


Have you seen the new papers?! I am so in love with them! So many beautiful floral patterns! I almost don't want to use them. Hahaha Are you like that? Do you have papers that you don't want to use? I'm going to have to buy another pack just to keep!
