Gone Fishing With La-La Land Crafts

Good morning! I cannot believe how fast the last week has gone. I have been busy with hunting, canning, and appointments. We did take an entire day and go to the State Fair. That was a lot of fun.

In all the craziness, I did fit in a little coloring and crafting time. Crafting time is always much needed. Even if it is for a design team assignment.

This week the La-La Land Crafts designers are creating with Background Stamps and Stencils. This was a really fun theme. Easy to do with the quickly growing collection that La-La Land Crafts has.

I went to the Rubber Stamp section on the La-La Land Crafts site to find an image that I had never used before. That's where I stumbled on to the Gone Fishing Luka Rubber Stamp.

I just had to use him. 1) because my husband loves fishing. 2) because he is so dang cute and 3) because Luka just doesn't get used enough!

I colored Luka and the background with Copic markers. This is one of those times that I impressed myself with my coloring. Hahahaha...I find that I am always my worst critic, but I was super happy with this guy.

You will find the color combinations towards the end of the post.

All of the background papers were made using La-La Land Crafts Background Stamps and Stencils.

Anything But A Card With La-La Land Crafts

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! This week at La-La Land Crafts, we are making anything but a card. Ummm...how about a tag?! Hahaha...not original, but hey...it's cute!

I used one of the little piggy stamps again. They are so cute!!

I have been asking my husband if we can get a potbelly pig, but he says no. I guess the 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4 foster kittens and frog that we have are enough pets for him 😂 So for now, I will settle on coloring pigs from La-La Land Crafts

I colored the pig with Copic markers. You will find the color combinations that I used listed below.

Happy Birthday from La-La Land Crafts

Hello! How are you this Friday morning? Things are now quiet around the Goodwin house. The girls went back to school yesterday. We now have a 7th grader and a 3rd grader. It's such an awesome feeling having two of the four graduated already.

Anyway, on to the crafting! This week the La-La Land Crafts Crew is making birthday cards.

I found some cute coordinating papers and went to town cutting dies. I think the card turned out pretty cute. I am in love with the little pig!

This card will probably be going to my sister-in-law since she loves pigs. She has collected them for years.

La-La Land Crafts Club Kit Birthday Bash August 2019

Good afternoon! Today I have a special post for you!
Did you know that La-La Land Crafts Club Kits have been being released for 5 years?! Well, today we are having a birthday bash! My sweet friend Cristena, asked me to guest design. Of course, I said YES! I love working with the club kits.

Check out the Club Kit for this month! It's all about birthday's to celebrate the 5th year of these wonderful kits.

I made two projects to showcase the stamps and dies in the new kit.

I love all the little creatures put together in a group. You could create quite the party scene with this stamp!

I went with a lot of black and white with a pop of blue color for this card. I love the way it turned out. I'll be sending this one off to my nephew in just a few weeks. He's turning 6.

The next card I made is a box card. I don't often make these cards well, because I am lazy. It's true. I am a super lazy crafter.

I love these cards, but it does take a little more time and effort on my part to make them. I need to get over that because They always turn out super cute!

I colored the stamps with Copic markers. Since Marci is mostly hidden, I thought I'd show you what she looked like before she went onto the card.

I absolutely love making sparkly dresses! I color the dress like normal and then I use the colorless blender to make a few spots. After that I add in spots and sparkles with a white gel pen.

In order to celebrate the 5th birthday of La-La Land Crafts Club Kits, we are doing a GIVEAWAY! That's right...a giveaway. I will be giving away $25 to La-La Land Crafts. Ocean with La-La Land Crafts

The ocean is probably my favorite place on Earth! So when I saw the theme for this weeks assignment, I was super excited.

La-La Land Crafts has TONS of stamps that are perfect for ocean themed projects. My first thought was to head for the Jaws Because Clear Stamp Set

I was in love with this set when it was first released. It's been a long time since I have used it. It's just as adorable as I remember.

To create the background scene, I stamped the sand, anchor and plants on the cardstock. Then I used the Water Ripples Layering Stencil, the My Anchor Background Stamp Set and Distress Inks. I blended three colors of Distress Inks. Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Weathered Wood.

Once the waves were on the cardstock, I colored the sand, anchor and plants. I then adhered the colored sharks and the dies. (the clouds were in my stash of cut dies. I had used the colored clouds as a stencil for a previous project. I loved the way they looked on this card.)

After the sharks were adhered, I used white paint and a paint brush to make the top of the waves look foamy.

Overall, I am happy with how this card turned out. I have been in a crafting funk for quite some time. I am hoping that my mojo has come back!

Thank you for stopping by to visit. Below you will find a list of La-La Land Crafts items and the Copic markers used for this card.

In Style Marcy Tag

Good morning! I am trying to decide how I should spend my Friday. There's cleaning to be done, school shopping, class prep, weeding...I don't want to do any of that. I'd much rather spend the day coloring! Think I can get away with that? I may just have to wait for coloring days until October when I get to go to Copic Boot Camp! As if that weren't enough to be excited about, I get to meet a couple of my crafty friends in person while there. I could not be more excited!

Ok, enough rambling...this week we are making tags over at La-La Land Crafts. I know there's a lot of tag lovers out there. I don't often make tags, but love them when I do. They make perfect bookmarks if you leave them flat.

I used In Style Marci on my tag. I always love seeing Marci in glasses. She is so cute! I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the lenses.

Making the flowers on Marci's shirt was super simple. I make the spots on her shirt with the red and then use a white gel pen, starting in the center of the spot and spiral my way to the outside of the spot. Then I add the leaves.

I am in love with the Vintage Sewing Machine Die! I cut it out in layers to get different colored parts.

Thank you so much for stopping by. You will find a list of Copic markers and La-La Land Crafts items that I used below.

La-La Land Crafts Interactive Card

Hello and happy Friday people! This week we are creating interactive cards at La-La Land Crafts. I love when we are given this theme for the week. There are so many different types of interactive cards. Monday's La-La Land Crafts team had a couple that I had never heard of. Gives me a little something to look forward to!

Anywho, lets get on to the card that I made. Just by looking at it, you can't tell it's an interactive card.

But, if you give the card a shake, Barefoot Luka dance. They are adhered on a tiny plastic spring. I purchased the springs from 7 Kids Crafting Supplies.

The springs are not only nice to use for wiggly characters, they also provide a little depth to your card. I like to have lots of different layers on my cards.

Do you recognize Luka? He is the image that I did a coloring tutorial on at the end of June. If you would like to take another look at the tutorial I did...you can find that here...
