La-La Land Crafts December 2019 Club Kit Release

Good morning! Today is the release day for the December 2019 La-La Land Crafts Club Kit. I am super excited to be guest designing for Monthly Club Kits for the next couple of months. 

The kit this month is one of my favorites. It's a subject that no one wants to know about yet every one of us has been touched by in some way.

With this kit, we can encourage and uplift our friends and family who may be going through chemo and other trials.

The boxing gloves on this card are from Marci. I colored the gloves and then fussy cut them. I then colored the bottom part of Marci's legs and made them into cuffs for the gloves. 

It's amazing how much the simple act of sending a card can uplift a person's spirits. 

There is a wonderful program called CHEMO ANGELS that I have been a part of for several years. People who are going through chemo apply and are then set up with a volunteer or "Chemo Angel" who sends them cards and gifts. There are a few different kinds of "Angels." You can decide for yourself which one is fitting for you and send in your volunteer application. 

Being a Chemo Angel has been a great experience for me. If you are looking for different ways to serve your fellow men, I highly recommend being a Chemo Angel.

La-La Land Crafts Let It Snow

Hi there! Only 16 days until Christmas! Are you ready? I'm not. I never am. Hahaha


I am always so excited for the Christmas season. Every year during this time we try to do more service as a family. We often volunteer at the May-Su Special Santa Program here in the Valley. What I love most about this program is that it is for the families right here where we live. Last year they were able to help 3500 kids. That’s amazing! On Saturday my two younger girls and I volunteered for four hours. It’s actually a lot of fun. It’s like shopping but you don’t have to spend any money. You pick out gifts for a child and then they are put aside until the family can come pick them up. 

We also volunteer every year on Christmas Day at the community Friendship Dinner. We usually help clear tables, poor coffee and water and just talk to people. Serving Christ’s children on His day is so good for the soul. 

On to today’s card!! Today is my day to post on the La-La Land Crafts Blog. I decided to go with an image that we colored at the October 2019 Copic Boot Camp. I love the scenery! Winter Molli looks like she is in Alaska. 

  

Notice the white sun. The sun often looks white here, during the winter as it peeks through the fog and the clouds. 


To give the effect of falling snow, I used the Snowy Hills Layering Stencil art. The one with the dots looks like snow. I placed the stencil over Marci and used a chalk crayon for the snow.

La-La Land Crafts Waiting For Santa

It's Black Friday!! Did you go out shopping or stay in your jammie and wait for Cyber Monday? It's been snowy, rainy, cold and windy here in Alaska. The weather seems a little Bipolar, but I went out shopping anyway. 

Before I did though...I sat down and had me some craft time! 


Working on more Christmas cards. This one here is made with Waiting for Santa Marci. I wanted her to have a cute Christmas Sweater so I went to Pinterest. I searched Christmas sweaters for women. 


There as so many options! One with Ho Ho Ho on the front poped up. I really liked it. I did change the sleeves though. They were plain. 


I am totally in love with the NEW CHRISTMAS PAPERS that La-La Land Crafts put out with the last release. The quality is amazing and I love the colors and patterns.

La-La Land Crafts Dear Santa

Good morning! It is once again Friday and the La-La Land Crafts team is working with the new release items again this week. I love it when we are able to continue playing with the new releases. It gives me a chance to work with some of the stamps I was not assigned.

I was dying to color Santa Luka. Luka is probably my favorite La-La Land Crafts character. We need to see more of him!


I colored Luka with Copic markers. This time, I played around with a new skin combination. My go-to skin markers were really dirty and I was too lazy to clean them. 


I'm happy with the way the new skin combo looks. You'll find all of the color combinations listed below. 


The Christmas Postcard Stamp Set is so awesome! I was so excited when I first saw it. The Dear Santa Clear Stamps Set have a couple of sentiments that work perfectly for the postcard. Like the Dear Santa, I can explain. It's perfect! I can totally see a little boy waiting for Santa with cookies and milk in order to change Santa's mind and put him on the nice list. Just like Santa Luka.

La-La Land Crafts New Release - Happy Camper Marci

Good morning!! Here we are with my third project for the November 2019 new release. You may remember Camper Marci from a Club Kit awhile back. Well, now she is available to everyone!! 


Happy Camper Marci would be great paired with the new Happy Trails Clear Stamp Set. 

I have had a lot of fun with this release. I love all the critters AND the dies. I am a sucker for all La-La Land Crafts dies. I know I am not alone in this!

La-La Land Crafts New Release - A Caroling We Will Go

Do you go Christmas caroling? It's not something we do every year, but the years that we have, it's been fun. Part of the reason we don't make this a tradition is because it is so darn cold here in Alaska. 

Ok, I know you're not here to talk about caroling so I will get on with it. Today's card features the NEW A Caroling We Go clear stamp set. 


These mice carolers are the cutest!! They are not the only critters released this month. Take a look! 


I place the mouse next to my favorite new die. The Lantern Die. I love the way it looks with the flame covered by velum. 


Let's talk a little bit about these gorgeous papers. 


First of all, I love the designs. The quality of this paper is awesome. It's thick, smooth and has a tiny bit of shine to it. It's great for distressed edges. Like on the first card I did for this release.

La-La Land Crafts New Release - Santa Mona

Good morning!! I am here this morning with La-La Land Crafts NEW RELEASE! I am so in love with this release! I have been so inspired that every card has come together without much thought at all. 

My first card is showcasing the new Santa Mona. 


I built a Christmas tree using the Three Christmas Trees Die. I cut the trees apart and then layered them on top of each other. I love the dimension I was able to achieve. 


I used the bulb paper from the Blue Christmas Paper Pack for the ornaments. I fussy cut each one glued it to the tree and then added a twine bow. 

I am super happy with how this card turned out. I'm not going to lie, it took quite a bit of time to build that tree and fussy cut the bulbs, but it was well worth it.

Fall Colors with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning everyone! How are you this fabulous Friday morning? I am a bit exhausted to tell the truth. We have been remodling our bathroom. 

My husband is sort of a jack of all trades. This is the first time he has ever done tile, but I always have faith in him to do a good job. We should be done with everything next week. 

Let's get on with this Friday's inspiration post. We are working with fall colors this week at La-La Land Crafts. 

This time of year makes me think about baking. We bake a lot and share with others. 


I love the sentiment that Baker Marci comes with. It's so true...love and cookies...I'm good. 

I used the Stitched Nested Circles Die to make the chocolate chip cookies. I used Nuvo to make the chocolate chips. I love that they actually stick up off the paper.

La-La Land Crafts So Grateful For You

Good morning friends! It's the first day of November. Before you know it, Christmas will be here. 

I am excited for the next couple of months. I am always excited for the holidays, but we have a lot of fun things going on to finish out 2019.  

Anyway, on to today's card. The La-La Land Crafts design team is working on Gratitude/Thanksgiving cards. 


I used Autumn Marci. I used Copic markers to color her.

Paper Nest Doll's Spooktacular Haunted House

Happy Halloween everyone! My kids have the day off from school today. We will be out and about this evening getting our score of candy with the rest of the crazies. 

I am sharing the last Halloween card of the season today. The images are from Paper Nest Dolls.

La-La Land Crafts Zombie Shaker

Hi friends! I am back from Copic Boot Camp. Let me tell you that it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! I learned new techniques, got new crafting goodies, and made lots of new crafty friends. 

One of the images we worked on is Barefoot Luka from La-La Land Crafts. As I was coloring Luka's face, one of my markers dripped. I'm sure you know how frustrating that is. I had to figure out a way to fix it. My friend Cristena was sitting next to me...I jokingly said I could make him a pirate. She came back with "or a zombie." Genius! 

That's what I did...I made Barefoot Luka into a zombie. 


In Boot Camp, Jennifer Dove taught us how to do a few different backgrounds. Backgrounds are challenging for me, but I enjoy pushing myself to new limits. 


To make Luka's flannel I colored the shirt red with Copics. Leaving a white area for the tares in it. After the Copic ink dried, I used a white gel pen and a black sharpie to add the lines in the flannel. 

Here's a picture of the coloring before I made it into a shaker card. 


Coloring this image was so much fun! It didn't turn out how I had orginally planned but, sometimes we have to change plans as we go.

Orange and Black with La-La Land Crafts

Good morning!! I am coming to you from Copic Boot Camp in Arizona today!! It's day two and we are having a blast! Keep a look out in my Facebook Group for pictures. 

This week the La-La Lad Crafts team is creating Orange and Black projects. The stamp I used is Baby Pumpkin Luka.


I am totally in love with him! He looks so cute in his little pumpkin costume. My kids wore a costume similar to this when they were babies.
