Happy New Year With The Cutting Cafe

Hi there! This week at The Cutting Cafe we are working on bringing in the new year. Can you believe that it's 2017?!? The years seem to be flying by. I, for one, am ready for 2016 to be over with.

For my project I used three Cutting Cafe files. The 2017 Number Shaped Card, the Card In A Box, and the Card In A Box Embellishments. It has been a long time since I have made one of these Card In A Box cards. I forgot how much I like them. The set even comes with a file for an envelop. I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the card, envelop and the embellishments.

The Card In A Box flattens for easy mailing.

The image is Party Girl Avery from Paper Nest Dolls. I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out with my brand new Brother Cut'N Scan 2! (It was an early Christmas gift from my husband)

I use floral wire and hot glue to add the embellishments. I like the floral wire because I can bend the wire to perfectly place the embellishments.

And here's a close up...

Thank you all for stopping by. If you visit and leave a comment on The Cutting Cafe DT inspirational post on the 21st you will be entered in a chance to win three free Cutting Cafe files of your choice. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season.
Hugs,
Tina Goodwin

From Trash to Treasure with The Cutting Cafe

Hello crafty friends! This week at The Cutting Cafe we are turning trash into treasure. I always have a lot of fun altering items. Especially when it's something that I would normally throw away.

Here's what I came up with...

What started out as trash...

was quickly transformed into a beautiful Christmas gift full of my Mother In Laws secret family recipe of Nuts and Bolts.

The adorable little girl on the front is Christmas Elisha Jean. This set comes with Elisha Jean, two friends, and sentiments. You can find more Elisha Jean and Friends printable sets at The Cutting Cafe.  If you prefer actual stamps over the printable stamps you can find Everyday Elisha Jean and Friends  in The Cutting Cafe Shop

I colored Elisha Jean with Copic markers. I decided to go with a non traditional Christmas color combo. I love seeing all colors used on Christmas projects. Really, you can make any color a Christmas color. What is your favorite Christmas color combo?

The Happy Holidays sentiment is one of the sentiments included in the Christmas Elisha Jean and Friends stamp set

I love this BoBunny Christmas paper. There are soft snow flakes randomly placed on the planks of wood.

My only problem now, is to decide who will get my altered piece of art =)

Please stop by The Cutting Cafe on Dec. 7th to take a peek at what the rest of the design team came up with. If you leave a comment on that inspirational post, you will be entered in a chance to win three free Cutting Cafe files of your choice.

Thank you for popping in for a visit. Have a craftastic day!
