Shoot For the Moon...New World Wide Open Design Team Monthly Challenge Blog

Hello! I'm back again with another post for a BRAND NEW challenge blog sponsored by the lovely Sherri Ann Baldy My Besties.

I've been telling you how much I love these images...
So you will understand how excited I am to be on this design team.

Anyone who is on a design team can enter the challenges.
There's even a fun Facebook Group for you to join if you'd like.

I used image My Bestie Image 379 for today's card. Isn't this image just too cute?!?!
I colored her with Prima Watercolor pencils and Copics.

Here's a couple more shots...

The leaves were cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.
I am new to this machine, but I am liking it so far.

I love this sentiment. It was written by my Cricut Explore. It also drew the stars and the moon by the sentiment. The writing functions is probably my favorite thing about this machine.

3D My Bestie New My Besties Meet at the Scrappers Corner Challenge

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be posting as a new DT member for My Besties Meet at the Scrappers Corner Challenge Blog.
Today marks the beginning of a new challenge.
We were asked to use a 3D Bestie for our inspiration projects. This is the first time I have done a 3D Bestie. It was a lot of fun.

I absolutely love this image. Yes, I know it's July and a little early to be thinking of snow for most, but I live in Alaska where snow is possible any time of the year. We were up playing in the mountains playing in the snow in the middle of last month.

You can find the image I used HERE.

I fussy cut the images as I watched a movie with the family. You can also use a cutting machine to cut these beauties out, if you have one. I will be trying that next time.

I used foam tape in between the layers to add dimension.

The edges of the paper is distressed with my handy dandy Prima paper distresser. I love that thing!
I added a few tiny snow flakes and attached them with foam tape.

This card was fun to make and went together super fast. Stay tuned for more 3D Besties from me =)

Father's Day Gifts

Hello everyone and Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!

I am so proud to be this goofballs wife and mother to his children.
Andrew is the most FUN, loving, kind, and giving man I know.
The kind of guy that will give you the shirt off his back.
He is an awesome Father who always strives to do his best and to teach his children
skills that will help them in life.

Our kids made (or personalized) gifts for their Dad this year.

Echo, our youngest, personalized a tape measure. It's hard to tell from the picture, but she signed it just after the heart. Echo is just learning how to write her name.

Kylah, our little middle daughter, made him a t-shirt.

Linaya, our oldest daughter, made him a sign. She came up with the idea for the sign herself.
She cut a template of the batman logo with the Explore and traced it on a piece of wood.
Linaya has already learned so much from working with her Dad that she was able to use the saw all by herself to cut the bat out. I am so proud!

And Victor, our oldest and only son, personalized a roll of toilet paper for him.

It say's "Dad, thanks for putting up with my"...I'm sure you get the picture.

This picture makes me laugh. Victor is almost as big as his dad. We thought it'd make for a funny picture.

I love you Andrew. Thank you for making life so fun =)

Hope you are all spoiling your Dad's and Husband's today! See you again soon!

Cupcakes! Cupcakes! Cupcakes!

Are you ready to see some sweet cupcakes?!?

Before we move onto the sweets, I want to tell you all how AWESOME Regina is. She has decided to put two little girls on her DT. Both of these little girls are named Kyla/Kylah and they both LOVE to craft. Kylah is my 8 year old daughter. I could not be more thankful for Regina allowing these girls to learn and grow on this team. Anywho...before I get all emotional...Kylah's blog is Kanga's Krafts. Stop by and check out her very first Design Team assignment for The Cutting Cafe. Don't forget to leave some love for her =)

OK!!! Cupcakes is what it's all about this week at The Cutting Cafe
Regina has lots of different cupcake files to choose from.
I chose to use the cupcake shaker that comes with the 13 Shaker Card templates. It's been awhile since I've made a shaker. Why? I don't know...I love these things!

I used Martha Stewart microbeads to fill my shaker (purchased at Micheal's).  They are honestly my favorite filling for shakers. The beads are so tiny which is nice because I only have to use one layer of foam tape to raise the plastic. If I use sequin or paper shapes I have found I have to do two layers of the tape. The beads also move a lot easier...they don't seem to get bunched up like other fillings.

The tag is attached with Fancy Fiber. Boy, is this stuff ever a pain in the booty to work with!
I like how it turned out though.

I had so much fun making this shaker I thought I would make another one similar. It's always easier to make a card once you have the papers picked out. Sometimes picking out the perfect paper takes me longer than making the project. SMH.

The cherry on top of the cupcake comes with the file =)

Isn't this butterfly die cut gorgeous?!? It's one of my favorites from Spellbinders.

If you want to see more yummy paper cupcakes make sure you stop by The Cutting Cafe for the DT's inspirational post on the 21st. If you leave a comment on the post you will be entered to win 3 free files of your choice.

Design Team Planner From The Cutting Cafe

Are you ready for this?!?! It's a Design Team Planner !
Regina, from The Cutting Cafe, has created this AWESOME file to make all DT's lives a little more organized.
I kept my planner simple that way I don't worry about any pretties getting destroyed or falling off. I plan on using it A LOT.

This set comes with EVERYTHING you'll need to keep on top of your DT assignments, challenges and more. Here is some of the pages that come with the Design Team Planner...

Awesome right!?! I am so excited about this planner! I have already started putting mine to use.
Here's some more pictures of the one I made...

It started out like this...

I put several layers of Gesso on it.

After the Gesso was dry, I sprayed it with this adhesive (outside) and adhered my card stock.

I made a divider for each design team I am on.

My daughter colored this image. I love when they help me with my projects =)

I have started keeping track of all the money I spend on crafting. I am keeping track for a year. From May 2015 - May 2016. This was my husbands idea. I'm afraid he might just have a heart attack when I show him the amount at the end of the year.

The Live, Love, Craft is vinyl that I cut out with my Cricut.

It  was so simple to make this Design Team Planner
Regina has also made Craft Supply Planner. That is on my to do list. You will definitely want to check these files out!
The Design Team's inspirational post will be out on the 7th. If you leave a comment on that post you will be entered to win 3 free sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe

The image I used for today's card is Sweet Geisha Charlie. I just love her.
When my daughter, Kylah (8), saw her she was so excited. She wanted to make a card too. Here is what she came up with...

Isn't it adorable!?! Kylah has started her own blog.
Please hop on over to Kanga's Krafts and leave some love.
I love having a crafting buddy!
