Altered Clock

Hello everyone! In my last post I told you all that I am LOVING altering things.
This clock is by far one of my favorite projects.
It all started with an Easter basket swap.
One of the requirements was to include something handmade. I had no idea what to make!
Then I remembered the old alarm clock my Aunt had given to me. It would be perfect for this swap.
I have to tell you I was a little nervous about this swap. I had visited my partners Facebook page and began to think of her as a mini craft star. She has pictures on her page with her and all sorts of people I'd love to meet...like Sherri Baldy, Tim Holtz, Teresa Collins, and more!
Needless to say, I wanted this clock to be amazing!

This was my first altered clock so it was a learning experience...
I started out by taking the clock completely apart and painting it with several layers of  Gesso. Next time there will be parts that I don't remove such as the legs and the posts for the bell type parts.

I took a picture off my partners Facebook page of her and her husband for the center of the clock.
Another thing I would do different is not put the picture all the way on the back of the clock...It's too dark back there.

The butterflies, blue flowers, and metal charms are from Micheal's

The white vintage flowers I made using my Cricut Explore with the Flower Shoppe image set.

The beautiful pink flowers are from Kraft Supplies 4 U

I had a blast making this and am super happy with the way it turned out!

I love doing swaps. They are so fun. I have met some really great people participating in different swaps...like Rosie...She is the sweetest! Enjoy your clock Rosie!

Altered Shoe

Hello everyone!
I have really begun to love altering items.
It is so much fun to turn something ugly into something beautiful.

Today I have am going to share a high heel shoe that I altered.

I made this shoe into a ring holder for my daughters room.
I really hope she likes it...I am going to give it to her for her birthday which is in a couple weeks.

Here's a before shot of the shoe. I got the shoes at a second hand store for $2. I already had everything else on hand for this project...which was awesome.

And a few more after shots...

The beautiful lace butterflies came from the Gone Artsy store. If you have not checked them out you should. They have lots of fun stuff!

I took scraps of fabric, hot glued them closed (all but one end) and then stuffed them with polyester filberfil.

This was a super fun and super quick project.

For my inspiration card I decided to use Image #46 the Rose Butterfly. I love this image. It's so beautiful. This butterfly would look awesome in any colors.

Easter Cards With The Cutting Cafe

The Cutting Cafe has the funnest Easter files!
I had to stop myself from making any more...my laundry was screaming my name. Sigh...

I made 3 cards with the Easter Overlays and Shaker Card Templates

I LOVED how simple and cute this egg shaped card is.
I used the flowers that were cut out of this egg to make another card. They were just too cute to toss.

The dots used for the center of the flowers are pony beads that I melted in the oven.
I have been on a make your own embellishment kick lately. I have been working on some others that I will show you in a later post, so stay tuned.

Last one with this file...(I think this one is my favorite)

Most people who know me know I LOVE frogs. I always have. When I was 19 I got a frog tattoo.
My dad was not very happy about that! Anyways, When I saw this

stamp at the local stamp store I HAD to have it! I also bought the sentiment stamp that went with it...
"I toadally hope you feel better soon"
That same day I picked up the goodie pack for the next card contest...the theme is Easter. One of the rules is I must use a stamp from the store. Well, I didn't really see any Easter stamps that I wanted..so, I decided I'd try to make this frog stamp into an Easter stamp to go with the theme. I stamped the image on paper and then drew bunny ears on it. I love the way it turned out!
I copied the image in my scanner/printer/copier and enlarged it to 225%, printed it out and fussy cut it. Then I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.

I shrunk the shakers down to a size that looks good with the frog. I absolutely love Regina's shaker cards! They are so addicting!
I use micro beads to fill the eggs.

For the next card I made I used the Egg Shaped Card file.

This card is perfect for using up some scraps.

Last but not least, I used the Wheelbarrow Deliveries  file.

I love this file too!
I used grass from the Disney Pooh and Friends and the Spring Seasonal Cricut Image Sets.
The eggs are from Easter 2010, Teresa Collins Easter Basket, Happy Easter, and Easter Magic Cricut Image Sets.

Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe on the 21st to see the Design Teams inspirational post. If you leave a comment you will be entered in a chance to win 3 free files of your choice.

Fairy Card for Through the Craft Room Door Weekly Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Through the Craft Room Door! As always the theme is anything goes. Our sponsor this week is Fitztown. The winner of the challenge gets 3 images, the opportunity to be a guest designer and their card/project published in the next issue of TTCRD.

I chose to use Fitztown Fae38. This is such a beautiful image. I printed her using the Print and Cut feature on my Cricut Explore. I wanted to color the fairy before I cut her out with my Cricut. Sometimes it takes me a couple days to finish coloring an image because I do it in between other tasks. As far as I know there is no cut later option.  You are supposed to take your project strait from your printer and put it in your Cricut. I found a way around this! I sided the image in Design Space, saved my project, printed the fairy out and then colored her. When I was ready to have my Cricut cut her out I opened my project in Design Space, took all the paper out of my printer, went back DS and told it to print another copy. It does not realize that my printer has no paper...it thinks it's printing a new cut which allows me to cut out an old project.

Aren't these red roses beautiful!?! I made them with a file from The Cutting Cafe. These 3D Flowers are my absolute favorite! Regina, the owner, has a video to show you how to put the flowers together. It's super simple.

Ppinkydoll Card

Hello, my name is Tina and I am addicted to digi stamps!
One of my favorite places to by digi stamps is from Ppinkydollsart
I absolutely LOVE her digis!

Here is a card I made this morning using the digi Pinky with flaffy kitten.
Isn't this image the cutest!?!

I colored the image with watercolor pencils. I do not use water with them though.

Is it sad that I take a bag and my colored pencils EVERYWHERE with me? I mean EVERYWHERE! The doctors, dentist, plane rides, my kids skiing lessons...I even take them with me when I go to visit family members. I am a person who likes to have busy hands! When we watch TV together...I am coloring. I mean...I can't just sit there watching TV!
That's such a waste of time to me! It would drive me crazy.
I'd be thinking about all the crafty stuff I could be doing. Yeah, I have issues!

The paper flowers and butterfly are from Micheal's.
The green spirally thingies I made with Cloth Stem Wire.

Lucky Leprechaun's County Cottage

Hello all! This week at The Cutting Cafe we were able to choose any file we wanted as long as we did it mostly green. It's so hard for me to pick ONE file because I love them all!
I finally decided on the 3D House Set. The possibilities are endless with these 3D houses! Here is one I did in a Christmas theme.  I can totally envision an Easter themed house with a bunny out front and little Easter eggs...So much fun!

I bought the little Leprechaun, the tree and the rocking chair at Micheal's. I saw tons of cute miniature things that you could use for these houses at both Micheal's and Joann's. I now have a growing stash of miniature stuff =)

I cut 2 sets of the house and used one set to make boards. After I had cut, embossed and distressed the boards, I attached them to the side of the house with Scotch ATG.

You can choose to make a house that doesn't open or one that does. I love being able to fill the house with goodies so I made mine open.

I used a small box that I had on hand as a base for my house. I covered it in green paper and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I used chipboard for the ground, painted on Mod Podge and covered it with clover confetti.
I used little rocks from my driveway to make the walk way up to the house.

The glitter that I used for the walkway is actually gold. The pictures make it look rainbow colored.

If you stop by The Cutting Cafe and leave a comment on the inspirational post on the 7th you will be entered in a chance to win 3 files of your choice.

Thank you for stopping by Toadally Love To Craft! I hope you have an amazing day!
