Back To School With The Cutting Cafe

What!?!? It can't be time for the kids to go back to school! The summer just started!

Somehow, August has snuck up on us. We now have a Junior, a freshman, a 4th grader and a Kindergartner. The 3 other kids started school on the 15th and my baby starts school on 22nd. This will be the first time in 16 years that I do not have a baby at home. Excuse me while I cry!

Ok, back to reality. The Cutting Cafe DT is making back to school type projects. We were given a few files to choose from...the PENCIL or APPLE TREAT CUP or the PENCIL or APPLE shaped card. I chose to use the Pencil Shaped Card for my project.

Instead of using the pencil as a card, I used it to decorate my card. As soon as Echo (my soon to be kindergartner) Saw the pencil she said "Oh, this is SOOO CUTE! You should make this for me to go to school." So, that's exactly what I did. I made a card to put in her lunch box for the first day of Kindergarten. Did I mention that was Monday?!? This Monday!!!

After cutting the pencil out with my Cricut Explore, I scored 2 lines down the center of it and then inked the edges and score lines with wild honey Tim Holtz Distress Ink. The sentiment I used is also a Cutting Cafe file that comes with the Back To School Shaped Card

The little bear is a file from Little Scraps of Heaven.

Monday is the big day. The day my baby goes to school. I have been a stay at home Mom for 7 years. What does a stay at home Mom do when there are no children staying at home? I figure I'm going to embrace it. That's what I'm going to do. After we drop Echo off at school, this stay at home Mama is heading to the Spa for a massage and pedi!

Thank you all for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe on the 21st to see the rest of the Design Team's project. You won't be disappointed! If you leave a comment there on the inspirational post you will be entered in a chance to win 3 Cutting Cafe files of your choice.

Have a great day!
Hugs, Tina
