My Bestie SVG Guest Designer

Hello! I hope you are enjoying this fabulous Saturday.

Today I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for My Bestie SVGs.  Sherri Ann Baldy has so SUPER cute SVGs. If you haven't checked them out, you totally should!

The digi I used is IMG43722. She comes with her face and eyes already colored.
I finished coloring her with watercolor pencils.

I used the Barrel SVG and made the card out of it in Cricut Design Space. To do this you just weld 2 of the barrel bases together at the top.

The leaves on my card were made with a die-namites die...Leafy Flourish.
 It's my favorite flourish die.
The butterfly is a Joy Crafts die...6003/0033
The hay bail (my 8 year olds idea) is from the Old West Cricut image set and
the dragonfly is from the Pagoda Cricut image set.

The flowers are made from the 7 Layer Scallop SVG. I only used 3 of the layers. To give the flowers a little dimension, I cut into the flower to make petals.

The bottom flower is an example of the flower before I cut into it.
After I was done with the petals I inked the edges of each petal with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. For the pink flowers I used Picked Raspberry and for the purple I used Dusty Concord.
When the inking was finished I sprayed the flowers with water. (You don't need a lot of water...just a misting. This helps relax the paper so it's easier to form or roll.)
For this next part you will need some kind of mat to work on. I use the pad I use for stamping. If you don't have one you could use a mouse pad or something similar.
I used clay sculpting tools and gently push down on the flower and moved the tool in a circular motion. This makes the flower kinda fold up on itself. (A good substitute for a clay sculpting tool would be the end of a paint brush or a pen).

I love this technique! It really brings the flowers to life. This is something that I have learned from The Cutting Cafe. They have a video you can watch HERE

I attached one of each of the sizes of flowers together to make one flower.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous weekend!
