Little Beauty Bestie

Hello fellow crafters! I hope you are all starting to see some warmer weather.

Today's card is a card I made for a swap.
I joined a new Facebook group called My Besties Card Swap
We do one card swap a month with My Bestie Images.
I really enjoy doing swaps and making new crafty friends.

I colored this little beauty with my new Prima Watercolor pencils.
Let me just tell you that I am in LOVE!

It's a little hard to tell from the picture, but I put stickles on her hair and the green part of her dress.

The beautiful flowers are from Kraft Supplies 4 U.

If you'd like to have this digi you can find her HERE.

Breast Cancer Awareness Card for Through the Craft Room Door

Hello everyone! This weeks sponsor for the new Through the Craft Room Door challenge is The Stamping Boutique. The winner will receive 2 images of their choice (3 if they use a Stamping Boutique image for the contest)

The image I chose to use is Princess Jennifer Latte Breast Cancer Awareness. This image speaks volumes to me.
I am sending this card to my Chemo Buddy. She just graduated from the Chemo Angel Program. I thought this would make a perfect graduation card.

I will be sending her a little gift too.

This little cutie is holding Forget-me-nots (Alaska's State flower). A little card comes with her that says "holding thoughts of you closely." Perfect for my first Chemo Buddy.

I love this image so much that I had to make two cards =)

The Chemo Angel program is always looking for people to be a Chemo Angel. You should check it out to see if it's something you would enjoy. Being a part of this program has been such a blessing in my life.

Baskets Aren't Just For Easter

It's inspiration time The Cutting Cafe! This week we are playing with the new baskets Regina designed just before Easter...the Round Basket With Handles or Round Easter Basket. I chose to use THIS one, The round basket with handles.

You can use these baskets for anything!
I chose to fill mine with candies to send to a friend.

Isn't this the CUTEST little bear EVER?!?! He made the perfect embellishment for this basket.
I got the file for the bear from Cuddly Cute Designs. The file is called Honey Bears
If you haven't checked out Cuddly Cute Designs you should! They have the cutest designs and give away a weekly freebie.

I inked the edges of this little cutie with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink.
The white on the eyes and nose I drew on with a white Gelly Roll Pen.
The eyelashes are shaded with black chalk and then drawn on with a Micron 01 pen.

The paper for this project was something I found on the discount rack at Micheal's. I never pass up the discount isle =)
I used Tombow XTREME permanet adhesive to put my basket together.
It's what I use for all my 3D projects.

I used yellow colored hot glue (purchased at Joann's) to create the honey.

Regina has made her files EXTREMELY easy to use.
Each file comes with instructions and sizing information for Cricut Explore users.
Not only that she is available to ask questions if you need her. She is THE BEST!

What will you do with your basket? If you need more inspiration be sure to check out The Cutting Cafe's DT inspirational post on the 21st of this month. If you leave a comment on that post you will be entered in a chance to with 3 free files of your choice.
Remember, you do not have to have a fancy cutting machine to use any of Regina's files. They come in PDF form as well as others.

Artist Trading Cards

Hello! I recently learned about Artist Trading Cards (ATC).
I thought this was a super fun idea and thought I'd try my hand at making some.
Here's the trading cards I came up with.

This was my first one. I think this will be the beginning of a collection =)

I made the pretty butterfly by cutting 3 of the same butterfly, at different sizes with my Cricut Explore. I stamped them with text, inked the edges, glued them together and then tied bakers twine around them.

The cards are 2 & 1/2 inches x 3 &1/2 inches.

For the background on the cards I tore pages out of an old book,

Sprayed the page with this adhesive, put cardstock on the page,

cut them down,

and then distressed the edges.

For the next card I tried to put different colors of ink on a straw and blow it onto the card, but that didn't work for me. Instead I just dropped different colors on the the card and let it dry. Next I sprayed it with goosebumps spray and dried again. Then I did the image with embossing ink and powders. Last I cut out Believe with my Cricut Explore and adhered it.

On the back I put my name, Palmer Alaska, and blog address.

These were a ton of fun to make! You should give them a try!

A Birthday Card For My Mini Me

My mini me is turning 13 in a few days...sigh...
I feel like it was just yesterday they were placing her in my arms.

This is the birthday card I made for Linaya.
My first Gorjuss Girl card.

So, I know a lot of people call their kids mini mes, but Linaya truly is a lot like me. It's kinda funny. When she answers my phone people think she is me. Everyone tells her she looks like me.
She's a complete airhead like me! Whenever I make some kind of comment about that or am like WOW Naya REALLY!?! because of something she does she says...
"I get it from you mom!" or "Yep! I'm just like you mom!"
Sometimes she will come home from school and I'll be singing a song...she will walk through the door with that same song stuck in her head.

The thing I love most is how proud she is when people tell her how much she is like me.
At her age I would have been disgusted if someone told me I was just like my mom...but not her.
I hope she will always feel proud to be like me.

Linaya Marie, you are an amazing young lady. You are a great example to those around you. Keep your head held high Love. You deserve the best this world has to offer. Do not settle for anything less. I am so thankful God gave you to me. I love you more than you will ever know.

Vending Machine Fun

Happy Easter everyone!
I hope you are enjoying this special day.

I have a very cool project to share with you today...a Vending Machine! Made out of paper!
Regina, the owner of The Cutting Cafe, makes the coolest files. I'd tell you this was one of my favorites, but I think I say that about almost all of her files.

This was CRAAAZZZYY easy to make! And oh so much fun. This is the kind of project that I get all nerdy about...you know...squealing and clapping my hands. PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who does this!

Not only did I cut this Vending Machine file out with my Cricut Explore, I created my own butterfly embellishment using Design Space (the Cricut Explore software).
I just picked a solid butterfly that I liked cut out 3 different sizes, stamped them, crinkled them up, glued them together and then wrapped a little bakers twine around them.
The leaves are cut from a die...Leafy Flourish from Die-Namites.

To make the contents box, I used clear cardstock from Paper Basics. (Thank you Regina for telling me about Paper Basics!)
I cut 2 of the boxes, broke one of them apart and embossed the squares. It's kinda hard to tell by the pictures, but it looks awesome!

The beautiful pink flowers are from Kraft Supplies 4 U and the crown charm is from Micheal's.

I plan on filling my Vending Machine full of pretty pink peanut M&M's OR even better yet...pink almond M&M's! I am still deciding on weather or not I will keep it or give it away...I'm feeling kind of selfish to be honest!

I hope you have enjoyed today's project. Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe on the 7th for the Design Teams inspirational post. If you leave a comment on the DT post you will be entered in a chance to win 3 free cutting files of your choice.
